As our first initiative, we plan to launch a donation campaign for NPOs in Japan.
In Japan, the culture of charitable giving has not yet taken root, and many NPOs face financial difficulties daily. We believe that by leveraging the strong donation culture in the U.S., we can raise the presence of Japanese NPOs, inspire more people to engage with their activities, and ultimately take a step toward building a better society where everyone plays a role in nonprofit initiatives.
Looking ahead, we also plan to facilitate exchanges between U.S. and Japanese NPOs, creating opportunities for collaboration.
As of June 30, 2024, there are 49,792 registered NPOs in Japan. Many of these organizations are actively involved in preserving Japan’s unique history and culture, such as restoring traditional kominka (historic folk houses) and conserving satoyama (rural woodlands). Additionally, initiatives like forest preservation focus on sustainable management of mountains and trees, ensuring harmony between nature and human life.
